Hi folks,Just wanted to make you aware that the ISS will be crossing the Sun's face next Friday morning at 9.41. I will be attempting to photograph it through my solar filter.You need to be within 3km of it's 'centre line' which in this case crosses right over the public park/beach in Parksville.I will be heading down there next Friday, probably aiming to be there for about 8.45 to give plenty of time to set up. You can try repetative shots with the DSLR and hope you get a sharper image. But in the long run, a webcam such as the DMK will give you about 1800 frames in 1 minute! Then, yes, you go the Registax rooute. The webcam serves 2 purposes:…"

So the family vacation this year was in the desert bound Osoyoos and Lake area. I took the opportunity to book us into Jack's Observatory B&B for a couple of nights. Visit to Jack Newtons Observatory B&B Osoyoos

So the family vacation this year was in the desert bound Osoyoos and Lake area. I took the opportunity to book us into Jack's Observatory B&B for a couple of nights.
Jack if you didn't know is Mr 'SuperNova' Hunter, having discovered 75 of them, well known in the astronomy community, written several books, has his work regularly used by Nasa, and recently got time on the Hubble Space telescope to photography a particular SuperNova!
