A note from a lady who attended our recent Moon and Saturn viewing in Maffeo Sutton:

Hello Garland and others whose names I didn't get.
It was a PLEASURE to meet you!

Thank you for your patience with my daughter and her questions, for being open minded to listen and look at our Iphone's Skyview App (that is the closest I can get us to a somewhat decent telescope thus far).
Our neighbour…

May 20, 2012 from 4:30pm to 7pm

Hi, Garland.  For the records... I attended the "Opening the Door" exercise put on by the Vancouver Science Centre, and talked to about 30 high school kids re: astronomy. I handed out cards to them all, and several expressed an interest in joining. I don't think that any were aware of our existence, should we prepare a letter or flyer to send to the high schools?

Hi, Garland.

here it is.................

Over the history of Astronomy amateur astronomers have made great contributions to the science, and continue to do so to this day. Dr. Weller will review these past contributions, and will describe how and why amateurs are now working in fields that only a couple of decades ago were the sole property of the major observatories.

........................

Hope that the above is good enough for the newsletter,

Bill
ps tried to send it via email but no server.

Great system and very easy to upload images, just have to resize them to under 1 mb and it loads quite easy. I will get a photo of myself and upload it, hope it doesn't scare people off ha ha.
