Door Prizes Needed For Our Christmas Fundraiser

Once again this year, the Nanaimo Astronomy Society will have a Christmas fundraiser (December 8) to raise funds for our clubs outreach programs.

Our outreach programs are used to teach kids and adults around Nanaimo about the night sky.  Many people see the moon, planets and deep sky objects for the first time through our volunteers telescopes and we inspire many young people to consider rewarding careers in science.

Our Christmas fundraiser will be a fun night of food, entertainment and...DOOR PRIZES!

We already have some great door prizes, but we want to make it a spectacular night.  So we are looking for more.  If any of you have any door prizes you can contribute, please contact Garland at gcoulson@ebusinesstutor.com or phone 250-740-0472. 

The door prizes could be:

-products

-services

-gift certificates for your business or for restaurants, shopping, entertainment, services, accomodation

-art work

-music (my wife is donating a Native American Flute CD)

-books

-anything else that people might enjoy getting

They don't have to be astronomy-related, though those are great as well.   If you don't have anything to donate yourself, you could purchase something like a book at Chapters or a gift certificate from Tim Horton's to add to the night's fun.

If you have a more expensive item to donate, we could use this as a raffle to create more funds for our outreach program.  All donations will be acknowledged on our web site, in our newsletter and at the event, so this is a great way for a business to connect with our members.  We have hundreds of web site visitors each month and over 380 people in our list, so many people will know if your generosity.
