February Members Night : The Secret life of Stars
February 10, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
‘The Secret Lives of the Stars’
When you look up at the night sky you’ll notice that the stars don’t all appear the same. Besides the obvious differences in brightness, you’ll see subtle variations in colour – from blue white to ruddy orange. Astronomers have used clues such as these to uncover the secret lives of the stars – including our star the Sun. During this interactive presentation you’ll discover how astronomers plotted the stars on a simple chart (with a very complex name!) which enabled us to uncover the multi-billion year history of stars such as our Sun.
