DESCRIPTION:Our meeting tonight is split between an external speaker\, and our AGM after the break. \nThe public are welcome to attend once for free and are then encouraged to join\, \nWe now have the privilege of announcing that Professor Justin Albert has graciously agreed—on very short notice—to speak at our October 23 meeting\, ahead of our AGM which will begin after the break at 8:15 pm.\n\nPresentation :  ‘Dark Energy: New Technologies for Precision Astrophysics and Cosmology’.\n\nBrief :\nA direct look into one of the most challenging and exciting frontiers in modern astrophysics. Dark energy research sits at the heart of understanding the expansion of the universe\, and the technologies emerging in this field are reshaping how cosmologists measure\, model\, and interpret the cosmos.\n\nBio :\nProfessor Albert is not only a leading researcher at UVic\, but also a key contributor to international collaborations focused on next‑generation instrumentation and precision measurements. Having someone of his calibre—actively working on the very technologies and experiments that will define the next decade of cosmology—join us is an exceptional opportunity for our society.
